Danish national team doctor Morten Boesen has not guaranteed that Christian eriksen Play football again after the cardiac arrest suffered by the footballer on June 12 during the Euro 2020 match. Boesen has admitted that the final decision will be made by the footballer with his family.
“After the medical tests that are being done, if he feels comfortable, it depends on him and his family,” said the medical officer in a videoconference promoted by the Portuguese league. Boesen recalled that Eriksen was clinically dead for a few seconds and that it was a “very traumatic” scene.
To the midfielder of Inter de Milan an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) was placed, this being “necessary after suffering a heart attack due to heart rhythm disorders,” according to the Danish federation.
The also head of the Copenhagen clinical department has ensured that the medical situations in the Eurocopa “worked very well”, but, at the same time, he has not wanted to forget to comment that such quality of services is impossible to occur in amateur leagues or championships. “The side effects in Denmark have been enormous. There are a lot of volunteers who participate in courses related to the prevention and relief of heart disease,” he said.
In particular, Christian Eriksen has not competed since that event against Finland.
