From protector to victim. Esther CrawfordLike many other Twitter executives, was fired from his position at the hands of Elon Musk. Curiously, she was one of the most supportive of the company’s new CEO and even approved sleeping at headquarters.
As he recalls a report published on the website of The universalwhen Musk acquired Twitter, Inc. for $44 billion, he asked employees to commit to the cause and encouraged workers to sleep in offices, putting up beds there.
Crawford turned that suggestion into action and He even shared a photo of himself sleeping on the office floor.taken by another employee: “When your team is working hard to meet deadlines, sometimes you have to sleep where you work”.
Crawford is remembered for being the one who announced the changes to Twitter Blue, the platform’s subscription system with which the company seeks to generate more revenue. But this week she was fired from Twitter along with two hundred other employees.
What Crawford said about being fired
Crawford confirmed the company’s decision and defended his position: “The worst reading you could make of me going all-in on Twitter 2.0 is that my optimism or hard work was a mistake.”.
“Those who jeer and jeer are necessarily on the sidelines and not on the battlefield. I am deeply proud of my team for being able to build through all the noise and chaos.”.
The worst take you could have from watching me go all-in on Twitter 2.0 is that my optimism or hard work was a mistake. Those who jeer & mock are necessarily on the sidelines and not in the arena. I’m deeply proud of the team for building through so much noise & chaos. 💙

Later, the former Twitter executive faced the comments that her dismissal generated: “If you can’t stand being dumped on you publicly, make sure you avoid taking risks and steer clear of leadership roles. Don’t build or change anything. Stay small and invisible and, above all, silent and fearing what others think.”.
If you can’t take being publicly dunked on then be sure to avoid taking any risks and stay away from all leadership roles. Don’t build or disrupt anything. Stay small and invisible and most of all, be silent and afraid of what others think.

The firing of Esther Crawford follows a huge wave of layoffs at Twitter, which is only keeping 10 per cent of the employees it had before Elon Musk’s arrival and is also facing financial problems over the layoffs of many major advertisers.
