Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, confirmed during Investor Day the construction of an electric vehicle factory in Nuevo León, as part of his plans to increase its production to 20 million units per year, from the current 1.8 million units.
“We are excited to say that we will build a plant in Mexico. We will of course have a large operation near Monterrey,” Musk said at an event with investors without specifying which model will be assembled in the complex.
For his part, Governor Samuel García suggested on his Twitter account that it is the firm’s new model, which seeks to be the most affordable that it will offer to the market.
