Konami has announced that it will launch eFootball 2022 the next September 30th Worldwide for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows 10, and PC via Steam. The title is the new version of the football simulator formerly known as PES, now become a free-to-play that will receive a first major update, free of charge, throughout the fall. That same update will bring the game’s release on iOS and Android devices.

Seitaro Kimura, producer of the eFootball series, commented that “being eFootball the general name of our platform, eFootball 2022 is the official title of our first season of content«. The game will receive through updates features such as cross-platform coping and mobile controller support. On the other hand, other future content updates and game modes will be offered to players as free or premium options.
At its launch, eFootball will feature offline matches against the AI or a friend between nine clubs: FC Barcelona, FC Bayern München, Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal FC, SC Corinthians Paulista, CR Flamengo, CA River Plate and São Paulo FC. The stadiums available: Camp Nou, Old Trafford, Allianz Stadium, Emirates Stadium, Allianz Arena and eFootball Stadium. The online mode will offer clashes between different generations (PlayStation 5 vs. PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X | S vs. Xbox One) through weekly online events using one of the preset teams and with rewards such as GP.
Among the match modes, the following stand out:
- eFootball Creative League– A league where players can use their Creative Team and compete against other players to become the best in the world.
- Tour Event– Play against AI opponents in a tour format, earning rewards by accumulating Event Points.
- Challenge Event– Play online against other players, completing the assigned objectives to get rewards.
- Online Quick Match– A friendly online match against other players using over 600 licensed clubs / teams, including cross-platform match-up (PC and consoles only)
- Online Match Lobby: a 1vs1 online match room
