It seems that The Rock and Vin Diesel have finally decided to turn the page in favor of the business. Dwayne Johnson is officially back in the saga Fast and furious to star in his own solo film in his role as Luke Hobbs.
In accordance with Varietythe script for the as-yet-untitled project was written by Chris Morgan, who has written six of the films in the main saga and the spin-off Fast and Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). Johnson will produce the film alongside Dany and Hiram Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions, as well as Vin Diesel and Samantha Vincent of One Race Films. Other producers include Morgan himself through Chris Morgan Productions, Roth/Kirschenbaum Films’ Jeff Kirschenbaum and Original Film’s Neal Moritz.

Familiar sources point out that this project is not a sequel to hobbs&shaw, where Johnson shared credits with Jason Statham. This film will rather serve as a bridge between the events of the recently released fast and furious x and the coming one Fast and furious X: Part 2 scheduled for release in 2025. Dwayne Johnson had a surprising cameo in the post credits scene of the tenth installment of the saga. After discovering that Dom was not the murderer of his father, the villain Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) contacts the real culprit by phone: Luke Hobbs.
