According to the Ministry of Mobility, in 2023 driver’s licenses in the State of Mexico increased their price by 6% compared to 2022. The costs of type A, C and E documents are as follows:
- For one year: 634 pesos (before 589 pesos)
- For two years: 849 pesos (before 801 pesos)
- For three years: 1,135 pesos (before 1,070 pesos)
- For four years: 1,509 pesos (before 1,424 pesos)
Meanwhile, type D licenses (provisional practice permit) will have the following costs:
- License to (for 15 years of age): 3,016 pesos
- License b (from 16 to 18 years of age): 634 pesos for one year and 849 pesos for two years

Requirements to process your license
If it is the first time that you process the driver’s license, you need to comply with these documents:
- Birth certificate or naturalization letter
- updated CURP
- Updated official identification (INE, passport, professional license)
- Proof of address not older than three months
Those interested must present the knowledge test of the Traffic Regulations, pass it and obtain their proof of payment of rights. On the other hand, if it is a renewal of the document, you need to bring the previous license, CURP and official identification.
In the case of a replacement, the applicant will have to carry the duplicate, certificate of theft or loss, CURP, official identification and proof of payment of rights.
