Hideaki Itsuno, the creator of Dragon’s Dogma announced that his video game will have a second part in production with the RE Engine graphics engine.
Ten years later, Dragon’s Dogma fans will be able to get their hands on the long-awaited sequel to Capcom’s game.
Itsuno began the developer video by telling how classic tabletop RPGs introduced him to the high fantasy genre and RPGs in general. After these early experiences, Itsuno became passionate about arcade and action titles, especially combat. Street Fighter™II, from Capcom. By the year 2000, Itsuno had already released several titles for Capcom’s arcade division and began putting together early concepts for a game that would eventually become Dragon’s Dogma. However, this dream would have to wait, as Itsuno was assigned to finish the production of Devil May Cry 2and to direct its sequels Devil May Cry 3 Y Devil May Cry 4.
After completing the production of the games of Devil May CryItsuno finally returned to his pet project. The different approach to magical combat and the ability to grab huge enemies already set Dragon’s Dogma from its contemporaries, but it was the game’s unique pawn system that helped cement its place as a fan favorite. This special system was born out of Itsuno’s desire to keep the game a single-player experience, but still allow players to feel connected to each other by sharing the AI partners they create and train. As development progressed, the production team’s trips to the UK inspired the rolling hills and architectural identity of the world that players explored.
When Itsuno finished going over the origins of Dragon’s Dogmagave fans their first look at what lies ahead for the series with the surprise reveal of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Itsuno and the development team of Dragon’s Dogma 2which includes veterans of Dragon’s Dogma Daigo Ikeno and Kenichi Suzuki are hard at work creating the sequel, and are eager to share more details in the future.
