Dow’s presence in Mexico
Dow has had an operational presence in Mexico for 63 years and is recognized as a key company in the petrochemical industry for its innovation, based on diverse and inclusive talent, sustainability in doing business, and its social commitment.
Its corporate offices – which have received awards for their architectural design that favors collaboration and their investment in state-of-the-art technology to continue encouraging digitization when doing business – are located on Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City.
The manufacturing centers are located in the State of Mexico, Tlaxcala and Querétaro; where they develop a broad portfolio of solutions for all value chains and markets in which they participate, not only in Mexico, but also serving the United States and Latin American countries.
“Our offices and manufacturing sites promote a safe, inclusive and highly technological environment for our collaborators when doing business and producing our technologies. Now, the arrival of the hybrid model is an opportunity to achieve the digitization that we have been promoting so much, even before the pandemic. This is how we reinforce our focus on the client, regardless of physical barriers or distance”, says Verónica.
In our country, the organization’s culture of innovation and inclusion have fostered various actions that connect its businesses with the community and its strategic partners, inside and outside the company. Among them stand out:
Inclusive robotics program with FIRST Robotics. Dow joined FIRST Robotics as strategic partners to advance science and robotics in 2014. Since then, more than 150 teams have participated around the world. In 2017, Dow supported its first robotics team in Mexico, WinT3794 from the TecMilenio Campus Toluca and the Pink Hawks, made up of 100% female students. They currently support more than 12 robotics teams in this global competition, as a way to spread STEM disciplines in an inclusive way.
Promote STEM capabilities together with the UNAM Faculty of Chemistry. The company is going to strengthen its collaboration and support for students from the UNAM Faculty of Chemistry, through a patronage that will be inaugurated in 2022. In addition, within the framework of its 125th anniversary, Dow will launch the Herbert Henry Dow Scholarship to support high-achieving research-level students.
Alliance with Memory and Tolerance Museum In 2019 they began an alliance with the museum, located in Mexico City, to promote inclusion, diversity, equity and non-discrimination. Dow employees (training) and the community (volunteering) participate. This alliance continues and this 2022 helped promote the “LGBT + Legacy and Future” exhibition.
Recycling Mexico 2022. For the third consecutive year, within the framework of the 25 years of Fundación Teletón, Dow will participate in the Reciclatón challenge, a campaign created to raise awareness about waste management (PET, HDPE, aluminum, Tetrapak) and its recovery to allocate resources to Telethon Children’s Rehabilitation Centers. This project, which promotes actions around the Circular Economy, aims to exceed the collection of more than 200 tons of waste together with other allied companies and citizens.
Driving key platforms MobilityScience™ and PaintVision. Since 2020, Dow launched its MobilityScience™ platform, as a way to connect Dow businesses that serve the mobility and sustainable transportation markets that are highly relevant in the country. In 2022 they reinforced the alliance with the Jaguar TCS Racing team within Formula E, to promote innovation from vehicles on the race track to commercial cars.
This year, in Mexico they have developed the PaintVision digital platform, a tool where Dow’s technical knowledge and artificial intelligence converge, to promote the development of new formulas for coating products that meet the performance needs of the final consumer.
Dow celebrates 125 years as a global company with a Mexican essence that has proven to be a responsible corporate citizen, based on pillars of innovation, customer focus, sustainability and inclusion that seeks to continue exploring solutions together with its allies and the communities where it operates for many years. More years.
