More than three out of 10 Mexicans believe that the Mexican team will reach the “fifth game” in the World Cup qatar 2022revealed this Thursday a survey by the Poligrama agency.
In the history of the World Cups, Mexico is among the countries with the highest number of participations, although only once has it advanced to the round of 16 to face Germany in 1986.
In the Poligrama survey, 32.5% of the Mexicans surveyed affirmed that the Mexican team will reach the fifth match, although it accumulates seven competitions eliminated in this phase, what has become known as “the curse of the fifth party”.
When asked about the different group stages of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, only 29.64% believe that Mexico will reach the round of 16while 5.36% estimate that they will advance to the final without winning it.

Meanwhile, only 5.84% trust that the tricolor team will be the world champion, 13.93% assure that they will advance to the quarterfinals and 7.37% to the semifinalwhich historically has never disputed.
Few hopes in the tricolor team
According to the Poligrama survey, 37.86% believe that the Mexican team will stay out of the group stagewhere they will face Poland, Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
In the first match, which Mexico will play against Poland, 46.36% of the Mexicans interviewed considered that the tricolor team will win its first match, 28.43% that it will draw and 25.21% that it will lose.
For the second game, Mexico against Argentina, the majority of those interviewed think that the Mexican team will lose with 45.32%, while 30.42% think the result will be a draw and 24.26% that the “Tri” will win.
When questioned about the results of their third match against Saudi Arabia, half of the Mexicans surveyed trusted that Mexico will win, 27.48% that it will result in a draw and 22.51% that the Mexican team will lose.
For this study, Poligrama conducted 500 telephone surveys of men and women of legal age on November 1 at different times.
The type of sampling was through the random selection of households and has a level of 95%, with a margin of error of 4.38%.
