Day of the Dead, one of the most popular celebrations in Mexico, since it commemorates the lives of our loved ones through offerings and festivals on November 1 and 2 in Mexican cemeteries and homes. In case you live in Mexico City, we have good news for you, because they will give tours at no cost, whether you are going to enjoy them with your partner, family or friends.
The Ministry of Tourism announced some activities on the occasion of the Day of the Dead in the country’s capital. They can even be enjoyed by inhabitants who live far from the center, who find it difficult to move and take their family for a walk. Read on to discover these activities.
Activities to celebrate the Day of the Dead 2022
Do you want to save but also celebrate the Day of the Dead? Here we give you the details about the completely free activities:
- Tour the circuit of altars at different points such as: the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Monument to the Revolution and the Chapultepec Forest on October 29 and 30, in addition to November 1 and 2 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. of the night.
- Dramatizations of the Day of the Dead on Avenida Madero, the Monument to the Revolution and in the multiple town halls for those who reside in them and cannot travel to the center.
- Likewise, there will be a show with drones and pyrotechnics that will begin when the cars arrive at the CDMX Zócalo. Later, they will have a presentation by the singer Ángela Aguilar.
- If you want to enjoy the lights alluding to the Day of the Dead, this year will be the first time that the capital’s government places them in the buildings surrounding the Plaza de la Constitución.
Although the schedules for these dramatizations are not yet available, the Ministry of Tourism will inform them soon, so you must stay tuned, because unlike the private tours, these will not have limited space.
