One of the benefits most desired by workers is the arrival of the bonus, both public and private sector employees expect it. In this sense, we tell you how many days you get if you only worked half a year.

This is your bonus for working half a year

It is by law that public workers in Mexico have the right to receive 40 days of bonuswhile in the private sector this amount corresponds to 15 days of daily salary.

However, there are situations in which the worker did not work the full year, but only 6 months, or less of this, a case that raises concerns about what they would receive. Here we solve your doubts.

Did you work less than a year? If this is your situation, among your rights is to receive a proportional part of bonus between the 365 days of the year. The Federal Attorney for the Defense of Labor (PROFEDET) says that the minimum amount is 15 days of salary; or if the full year was not worked, to the proportional part.

Example: 15/365, this result (0.0410), then you must multiply it by the number of days worked during the year; To give an example: 0.0410X190 days, the result will be 7.80 days of Christmas bonus.

The resulting figure must be multiplied by your daily salary. If you earn 400 pesos a day, you will have as a result $3,123.28 pesos.

Although it is necessary to highlight, according to accounting specialists or labor consultants, that depending on the case it can vary in each worker, therefore, it is suggested that workers verify it with a specialist before claiming their employer.

Remember that you will receive the bonus before December 20, because it is the deadline established by law to receive this benefit.
