DICE LA, until now known for their collaboration in the Battlefield saga, will become an important part of EA’s internal studies as Ripple Effect Studios, a new stage in which they will unleash their creativity with a new game yet to be announced.
“We are very proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will always be part of our DNA, but over the last eight years, we have developed our own culture and our own way of doing things,” says General Manager Christian Grass , in the first release of the study. “We are excited to look to the future, expand the team and establish our own identity.”
For his part, Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn Entertainment, will continue to oversee the studio as he works with Grass to attract “an influx of talented developers, artists and engineers.”
“The talent here has a long history of producing high-quality titles, and the studio is poised to make even more incredible games in the future,” says Zampella, who confirms that the studio is working on an unannounced title. “With an amazing new campus coming to Los Angeles and remote locations, now is a good time to consider joining us.”
To see Ripple Effect Studios’ first own game, you may have to wait a few years, but this fall will hit the stores Battlefield 2042, a game where the Los Angeles studio has been a key piece.
