We have had several rumors around this development during the year.
In the video game industry we are seeing that the mobile game expansion is the order of the day, since, after all, it is normal for many companies to want to enter this market knowing that almost everyone has a smartphone today, which is the gateway to all kinds of games, especially when they are renowned brands. Without going any further, there we have the case of Pokémon GO.
However, this should not only be limited to the mythical saga of pocket monsters, but within Nintendo’s own licenses we have Mario Kart, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing, while other licenses have also made the leap such as Fortnite, League of Legends, among many others. And of all these, it seems that Destiny could be the next to join the ranks.
A patent in which you can clearly see a smartphone
The truth is that it is not the first time that something related to Bungie has been heard working on a mobile game based on the Destiny universe, since, after all, it has been widely speculated and rumored that this is a part of the Sony purchase agreement, fitting here the fact that they could launch titles on other platforms. In fact, Sony has shown interest in expanding into this market just like Nintendo did a few years ago with their DeNA partnership.
Be that as it may, it has recently been discovered that Bungie has registered several patents that suggest the development of a mobile game, this being something that would have been carried out at the beginning of this year, almost coinciding with the purchase of Sony. In any case, the patent focuses on virtual controls on a touch device, thus serving as buttons and joystick that appear where the user rests their finger. You can take a look at it below:
It should be noted that according to what has been speculated during this year, Bungie’s mobile title could be being developed in a partnership with Chinese giant NetEase. We will have to see if it ends up materializing.
