Denis Villeneuve, director of Dune, Warner Bros. latest prospect, gave his own critique of Christopher Nolan’s work, focusing on Tenet, his colleague’s latest work.
Hollywood it is, without a doubt, one of the most competitive industries of all. The egos of the participants, be they actors or members of a behind-the-scenes production, take precedence over many other factors. For this reason, it is not common to see that each other congratulates or praises each other. However, there are times when objectivity and quality override that prevailing pride. This was the case of one of the men of the moment, Denis Villeneuve.
The filmmaker has been working in recent years on Dune, the new tape of Warner Bros., which paints to be a great franchise throughout, showing a great universe to explore. However, despite being one of the great spotlights of the reflectors at the time, the creative surrendered in compliments towards Christopher Nolan.
In addition, in the middle of his statements, the developer took the opportunity to show how much he respected the work done by his colleague in Tenet, his most recent creation.
“He is by far one of the best working filmmakers in the world today because people don’t realize the visual level of his cinematic mastery, it’s insane. It’s crazy! Every time Chris puts a movie on the screen, I have to [verla en los cines]. Of course, I saw ‘Tenet’ in theaters. You can’t watch a Nolan movie at home, it’s like, that doesn’t make any sense. First you have to receive the full impact of a Nolan movie in a theater. It’s really fascinating to watch him evolve from movie to movie and always pushing the boundaries, technically and narratively, and always reinventing himself. For me, it is deeply inspiring to see that teacher in action.«.
Tenet is currently in HBO Max, while Dune is already in theaters. Details of its launch are expected on the same streaming platform globally.
