Arkane Studios can boast of having some of the best immersive simulators of recent years, such as Prey, but with the arrival of the new generation of consoles, the French team aspires to take a step forward in terms of player immersion thanks to the new features of the PS5 DualSensesuch as haptic vibration or adaptive triggers. Through a new gameplay trailer, Arkane Studios shows how Deathloop will take advantage of these new possibilities.
The adaptive triggers The PS5 DualSense allows each weapon to feel differently when shooting. Depending on the weapon, you will simply have to press the button, push it down completely, hold it down to load a shot, or even hit it multiple times when the gun gets stuck.
The haptic vibration It will be responsible for transmitting the movement of the character to the player through their touch, whether they are light footsteps when walking in stealth or strong stomps when running on various surfaces. It will also make use of the integrated speaker, where the messages that reach our protagonist, Colt, will be played.
There are still a couple of weeks to go before we can enjoy Arkane’s game in our own hands and see how this next-gen immersion feels, but without a doubt, these are features that have worked really well in other games on the platform, such as Ghot of Tsushima. o The Last of Us Part 2. They have been so well received by critics and the public that even Phil Spencer considers incorporating them in future versions of the Xbox Series X | S controller.
Deathloop will go on sale next September 14 for PS5 as a temporary exclusive on consoles and PC. Later, just a year later, it will also arrive on Xbox consoles, since it is an internal study of the company after the purchase of Bethesda last year.
