Death Stranding Director’s Cut, which barely has a few days between us, brings with it more news than we expected. In our analysis we tell you everything you can expect at the level of playable experience, however, today we can add another item to the list. It is a surprising – and chilling – easter egg PT (Silent hills), that demo which Kojima wowed PlayStation 4 gamers with in 2014.
The easter egg arises, specifically, in the bathtub of the room of Sam Porter Bridges, protagonist of Death stranding. As you yourself can see in the video below, this character has a nightmare in which a mysterious creature appears in the bathtub. His movements are practically identical to those of Lisa, the ghost of PT A few seconds later, the “specter” smashes the glass and lunges at Porter.
Fortunately for the character, everything was a nightmare. Another curious point is that no one has been able to discover if the player requires specific steps to make it happen, or simply occurs when grilling, because not everyone has had the opportunity to see it. What is clear is that the original version of Death stranding, which was released in 2019 on the PS4, did not include this Easter egg.
The reference in Death stranding is even more relevant because Norman reedus, the actor who plays Sam Porter Bridges, was also the star of Silent hills. You probably already know the history surrounding the game. The project, which also had the participation of Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, was unexpectedly canceled by Konami in 2015. The situation led to Kojima’s departure and that PT become a cult experience.
The return of Silent Hill is so longed for that the internet went crazy with theories about Abandoned, the mysterious horror title announced last April. Many believed that it was actually a new installment of Silent Hill. However, as the weeks went by, it became more apparent that it was all a marketing strategy that got out of hand.
