After the filtering of the first image of crisis 4, Crytek has officially confirmed that the next installment in the first-person shooter series is in development. From what we’ve seen so far, the new chapter could be even darker than the original trilogy.
Crytek today posted the announcement trailer on YouTube. “It’s time to join the journey and be the heroreads the reveal, showing us some vague images of nanoparticles and destroyed buildings. The Nanosuit helmet can also be seen lying on the ground among the ruins. Little is known of crisis 4 for now, other than confirmation that the series’ hallmark, the nanosuits that grant you extraordinary combat abilities, will be making a return.
As for the release date, Crytek CEO Avni Yerli states that “right now the game is in the early stages of development, so it will still take a while“. Yerli has also claimed that “the team is working hard to deliver a truly next-gen shooterWhich means we’ll hopefully be met with more of the stunning visuals the series is known for.
The study intends to listen to the community as the development of the project progresses to ensure that “the next installment of the franchise lives up to its expectations“. As the team explains, “Crysis is incredibly important to a lot of people“, and the developers “are looking forward to revealing more details about what awaits us“.
The Serie crisis started in 2007 and received two continuations. The trilogy recently received a remaster, launching last October across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The pack only includes the single player story campaigns, with no multiplayer available to players.
