When talking about the adoption of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in the past, not many comments were heard about its practical use. Today, many cities are adopting cryptocurrencies to accept payments. An example of this is the city of São Thomé das Letras, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The city received a large investment for cryptocurrency adoption by Dash.
The cryptocurrency, which is one of the best known in the cryptoactive market, promoted in the Brazilian city a broad process of education and the potential of blockchain technology through a team that toured the city’s businesses and convinced them to accept cryptocurrencies. as a means of payment, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of crypto assets and decentralized technologies.
The teams also taught how to open a wallet, how to receive in crypto, how to pay in crypto, and how to convert crypto to fiat so that merchants can move their trade.
Dash also promoted various meetings and gatherings in the city with merchants and also with the local population who showed great interest in how cryptocurrencies were driving a new form of financial organization.
A documentary was also recorded in which two Brazilian influencers, Sabrina Coin and RipChiq, left the Kombi for the city and spent a whole weekend there using cryptocurrencies as a form of payment.
A report by Sabrina Coin – presenter and entrepreneur of the cryptocurrency market – shows that many of the merchants hardly need physical notes anymore, since payments are made in cryptocurrencies. Traders knew what cryptocurrencies were, but the practical use was non-existent, until the education initiative was carried out.
Sabrina participated in a documentary that will premiere soon on the YouTube channel Rodrix Digital, where she demonstrated the practicality of using Dash to purchase products and services in São Thomé das Letras. In the documentary, she shows which services accept cryptocurrencies and how merchants joined Dash.
However, the reality that everyone knows about cryptocurrencies and their practicality is still a bit far in some regions. The Jornal Cidade Cripto, knowing what happened in São Thomé das Letras, decided to start an education process for its users, even with a second edition.
Explaining what cryptocurrency is and how to use it, São Thomé das Letras made it possible to buy food, accommodation, medicine and other products with DASH.
This movement is not only in Brazil, this type of usability of cryptocurrencies is seen in different parts of the world. Jornal Cidade Cripto, for example, intends to expand to Switzerland, launching editions in the European country and other cities that operate with cryptocurrencies on a commercial scale.
