When a respected member of the crypto-Twitter and the Deadfellas non-fungible token (NFT) community detailed the enormous financial burden of his cancer treatment, the crypto community showed their kindness and generosity by donating over $73,000 in funds.
Yopi, known as Kuiyopi on Twitter, joined the cryptocurrency ecosystem in July 2021. He found that cryptocurrencies served as a welcome distraction from his health problems and even provided moments of joy and entertainment during his six-month chemotherapy program.
Throughout this time, he enjoyed content from crypto personalities like Cobie, was open to his attempts to learn Spanish, and reveled in meme culture while always sharing messages. empathic, condolences and visions to support other cancer patients within the community, even in a space where user identities are largely anonymous.
However, he received some heartbreaking news on Wednesday. Doctors at the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces Military Hospital performed an MRI on his right hip and discovered “infiltrative damage to the medullary bone of the upper and middle third of the right femoral diaphysis in relation to a recurrence.”
In simpler and more poignant words, her cancer had returned.
According to Yopi, the doctors said she needed stem cell transplant therapy. Usually, in this circumstance, the main treatment would be chemotherapy, but having been given a dose of that previously, it was no longer a viable option.
Besides that, the estimated insurance costs amounted to $50,000, a sum that a self-described “hobbyist shitty Ponzi trader” simply couldn’t afford.
Needing help, Yopi reached out to the crypto-Twitter community, reflecting about a philosophical memo that says that “luck is the most important factor in life that is the most neglected, people love to give all the credit to their success, but never admit it, they were lucky”.

Twitter user SnipeTrades shared an English translation of the letter to improve the readability of the results.
Orchestrated by notorious decentralized finance researcher Zachxbt, Yopi’s tweet received massive support from some of the biggest figures in the industry, including renowned NFT artist Cozomo, the true identity of legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, MoonOverlord, and FTX USA President Brett Harrison, as well as Shamdoo, among many others.
Analysis of blockchain data reveals that Yopi’s wallet, titled beastmo.eth, received a total of 107 transactions: 94 in Ether (ETH), 5 in Tether (USDT), 3 in USD Coin (USDC), 2 in Dai, 1 in Wrapped Ether (wETH), 1 in Chainlink (LINK), and 1 in ApeCoin (APE), within 14 hours of his tweet.
These selfless acts brought his total wallet balance to $74,268.60, a figure that exceeds his insurance bill by over 48.5% and rising as of this writing.
In a series of emotional responses, Yopi declared her love and adulation for the crypto community, thanking her for her warmth and kindness. “Man, this was amazing for me. I don’t even know what to say, I’m living in a dream and I hope to be born again, I love you guys.
