The fourth (and final) season of Succession has been highly praised by critics around the world receiving an exclusive sneak peek from HBO.
Indeed, the first reviews speak of a “great achievement” and “success guaranteed”, after having seen the first four episodes.
The final season of one of HBO’s most successful series continues after what happened at the end of the third, where Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) brought Logan Roy (Brian Cox) up to date on the Roy brothers’ plan to prevent him from Waystar Royco merges with Go-Jo.
With the company about to slip out of their hands, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin) continue to plot against their father in a no-holds-barred power struggle.
“After three seasons of nonstop scheming and transactional truces, a palpable team spirit takes root as the brothers join forces and turn their guns on their father,” says Joshua Alston in Variety under the title “Succession Tops Itself Again With a Brisk, Brutal and Hilarious Final Season”.
“Great performances from the Roy clan offer dazzling masterclasses in pent-up emotions wrestling with years of desperate approval from the family patriarch,” they say on IGN.

And they add, that “every department behind the cast is at the top of its game, from Succession’s regular director, Mark Mylod, to composer Nicholas Britell.”
In a review that received 5 stars, in Empire They write: “Your jaw is going to be on the floor after watching Succession season four. If the director can maintain the level of the first four episodes, he will be in contention for being one of the greatest achievements on television, ”they expand.
In another review, as positive as Empire’s, Collider says: “Succession Season 4 tells a more cohesive story than ever, with all the threads tightly woven together. As a result, you can see a season that is even more engaging than the previous three, leaving everyone hanging on every word.”
