What is the Credit Bureau?
According to the Condusef, the Credit Information Societies (SIC) or Credit Bureaus, are a sector made up of private institutions that provide information about the credit or payment behavior to financial entities or commercial companies of a natural or legal person.
In other words, it is the space in which all the credits and services you have had are reflected. Here it is broken down if you have been punctual in your payments or there were delays.
“It is for this reason that most commercial companies, such as department stores, automobiles, cell phone companies, cable television, or financial institutions, hire their information collection, management, and delivery services, and use credit history to know the payment behavior of the acquiring person or company, in this way they have the certainty that they will comply with their payment commitment and that they are eligible to receive the service or credit”, details the Commission through the magazine Proteja su Dinero.
How to know if you are in the Credit Bureau?
If you have or had contracted in your name any type of consumer, business, mortgage, automotive credit, departmental card, telephone service or pay television, you will be in the Credit Bureau.
The Condusef explains that being in the Credit Bureau is not necessarily negative since they only show the way in which you pay your credits, whether you are punctual or not.
“An advantage of appearing in the Credit Bureau is that if your payment history is good, the financial institution may give you the credit you require, according to the requirements requested.”
