Creative technology has announced the launch of the Sound Blaster Katana V2, a soundbar that comes to succeed the manufacturer’s previous Sound BlasterX Katana, with a clear gaming orientation and with some interesting improvements over the previous model.
The new version has been completely redesigned offering 68% more sound power, a dynamic range that they ensure is wider and also has holographic audio technology for headphones Super X-Fi.
It is a model with the classic compact bar design (600 x 89 x 60 mm) more external subwoofer apart (with a size of 114 x 250 x 367 mm) that is capable of dealing with soundtracks of up to 5.1 channels thanks to an internal triple amp design with 5 drivers different devices and a DSP or multicore digital signal processor.
Specifically, the bar mounts two 34mm midrange drivers diameter, two 19mm tweeters and the 165mm external subwoofer, achieving together a power of up to 126 watts RMS (252 watts peak) with a frequency response between 50 Hz and 20 KHz.
Super X-Fi headphone output, Dolby Digital and LED lighting
In the event that we want to use headphones, we can connect them to the bar and from there access the audio technology Super X-Fi holographic envelope that personalizes the experience based on our hearing abilities.
In addition, the equipment has several specific functions to improve the sound of video games such as SXFI Battle mode that highlights the effects of locating the enemies to know more precisely where they are or the Scout mode, which focuses on sound detection of enemies to hear them before they even appear on the screen.

It is compatible with desktops and consoles, including PC, Mac, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

The Sound Blaster Katana V2 has a suggested retail price of 329 euros and it is already available on the manufacturer’s website.
