After Health authorities declared an increase in preventive measures against Covid-19, we tell you what Phase 2 means for Mexico.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday, March 23 that Mexico entered into community transmission, with five cases of this type: this means that they are cases of contagion within the country.
HAVING COMMUNITY CASES COMPLICATES THINGS, SINCE IT BECOMES MORE DIFFICULT TO KNOW THE ORIGIN OF THE PANDEMIC.
Therefore, the measures are tightened with cancellation of multiple events, suspension of classes and activities in work centers.
But first of all, let’s remember something very important: HOW IS IT TRANSMITTED?
Human coronaviruses are transmitted from one infected person to another:
1. Through the air, when coughing and sneezing.
2. When touching or shaking the hand of a sick person.
3. By touching a contaminated object or surface and bringing dirty hands to your mouth, nose, or eyes.
PHASE 2: COMMUNITY DISPERSION
During the community dispersal phase, contagion cases number in the hundreds and mainly the origin of the contagion is lost, making it more difficult to stop the contagion and isolate the possible infected.
For Phase 2, federal authorities have spread the importance of the ‘Sana Distancia‘, which promotes social distancing to avoid new cases.
It is also asked to avoid the greetings of kiss and hug, cancel the events of more than 1000 people and the closing of cinemas, theaters, parks, gyms and squares.
Finally, sanitary filters are applied in work centers to identify symptoms or fever.
What Phase 2 means also involves closing some work centers; and in case of not complying with this, the law obliges the company to provide the appropriate sanitary measures to its workers, such as mouth covers, antibacterial gel and filters a measurement of fever.
