The wait is over! Following the conclusion of a private sale for waitlisted participants, Cointelegraph’s historic digital collectibles have officially launched. The non-fungible token minting feature is now open to anyone who wants to collect NFTs from articles published by the world’s largest news platform.
Starting December 1, all articles published by Cointelegraph will be able to be minted as NFTs on the Polygon blockchain. To collect an item, users must go to cointelegraph.com, select an item, and click the “Collect as NFT” button below the item’s illustration.
After clicking the button, users are sent to a page where they can review the details and approve the transaction using their wallets. Once the item is minted, the user is officially the owner of the digital collectible. Readers can exchange their collectibles through the marketplace while building their own historical collection with Cointelegraph.
Cointelegraph Editor-in-Chief Kristina Lucrezia Cornèr stated: “We take pride in producing high-quality content that sheds light on the vibrant world of cryptocurrency and the Web3. With Cointelegraph articles becoming established in the story, we are reaching out to the ideals we report so passionately about every day. Ivan Sokolov, founder of Mintmade and creator of the collectibles, shared his thoughts:
“When you own a digital collectible of an item, you make a new kind of connection to history. It’s interesting to see what people choose to collect – it’s their vision of what’s valuable. The Historical collection is an opportunity to re-explore different periods of blockchain history and Cointelegraph just diving into what was already collected.”
Those who participated in the private sale have already started collecting items as NFTs, selecting their favorite stories and the ones they think will be valuable to include in their historical NFT collection. Some users have already built collections by collecting stories about major events like major cryptocurrency crashes, like the fall of Terra and its aftermath, or even documenting the early history of Bitcoin (BTC).

Looking ahead, Cointelegraph intends to build various experiences for historic collectors, including integrating native Web3 features for NFT holders and launching exclusive series and campaigns from Cointelegraph partners.
Furthermore, all token holders will become part of a decentralized autonomous organization, the Historical DAO. Collectors will be able to vote on various metrics, as well as decide which features should be developed next.
You can now read Cointelegraph articles and start building your own collection of historical NFTs. Not sure which items to collect? Join the Cointelegraph Discord channel to chat with other NFT collectors and get ideas.
