For the eighth time, mothers and fathers of children with cancer met with authorities of the Institute of Health for Wellbeing (Insabi). Where representatives from Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Yucatán and Mexico City attended, mainly.

As a first point, the progress of the agreements signed last week was reviewed.
Teresa Lozada reported that the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris). Released keys of epirubicin, idarubicin, cyclophosphamide, which were received from Argentina and Korea. And of which Supply orders have already been issued by Insabi for Baja California, Campeche, Chiapas, and Chihuahua. In addition to Mexico City, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Oaxaca, San Luis Potosí. As well as Sinaloa, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
In the case of medicines from Korea. The Cofepris released 11 codes of oncological drugs for children with cancer by Insabi for a total of 31,748 pieces.
These medications are:
- Bleomycin 15 IU
- Dacarbazine 200mg
- Daunorubicin 20 mg
- 10 mg doxorubicin
- 50 mg doxorubicin
- 50 mg epirubicin
- Etoposide 100 mg
- 50 mg methotrexate
- 500 mg methotrexate
- Oxaliplatin 50 mg
- 1 mg Vincristine
How will the distribution be made?
The distribution of drugs was made to the different public health institutes in the states. 55 percent of the pieces were distributed to the Mexican Institute of Social Security, IMSS (17,179).
20 percent to Insabi (6,397); 14 percent to the Coordinating Commission of National Institutes of Health and High Specialty Hospitals, CCINSHAE (4,673). On the other hand, 6 percent to the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers, Issste (1,937). And finally, 5 percent to the Secretary of National Defense, Sedena (1,562), to give the total of 31,748 pieces distributed.
The case of Veracruz
Regarding the supply of oncological drugs in the hospitals of Veracruz. The representative of mothers and fathers in that state, Yunuet Yazmín Segovia García, pointed out that, although there are tangible progress. In the case of the drug etoposide, there was not one hundred percent supply.
But he specified that the lawsuit was covered for the patients because the state health authorities took him from another hospital.
Finally, Lozada Vázquez, Deputy Director of Distribution and Operation pointed out that there were some problems with the labeling of etoposide and added that On Friday, August 6, this medicine will be delivered to warehouses in the state of Veracruz mainly, without excluding the other states.
According to the authorities, this action guarantees the treatments.
