Citroën has presented its new logo and corporate image to society. A new visual identity that will debut in a conceptual model and will be progressively adopted by each of the vehicles that make up the range. It has been created to face the era of electrification.
citroen is ready to face the incipient era of the electric car. The popular car brand has presented its new logo and visual identity that will mark its most immediate future. An important change that occurs when the company has overcome the barrier of 100 years of history. This new corporate brand identity is described by the company itself as bold, exciting and dynamic.
The Citroën logo has undergone an important evolution throughout the century of the brand’s history. However, for this new proposal, a reinterpretation of the original logo first adopted by company founder André Citroën has been directly chosen.
The reinterpretation of the first Citroën logo
Central to the new brand identity is the evolution of the famous “two chevrons” symbol. The tenth significant renewal of the Citroën logo since the company’s formation in 1919 it features wider, more prominent contrasting chevrons surrounded by a softly designed vertical oval frame.
The new vertical oval surrounding the chevrons marks the beginning of a new direction in design language which will be applied in the future to all models. A new animatic language is also being developed to embed the new identity across all digital touchpoints. In other words, on the digital screens inside the car and in the My Citroën App itself.
Leaving aside the logo itself, we must focus on the typography. Some letters that have evolved. The letters that make up the word Citroën have evolved from patented fonts.
Not only has the logo and visual identity been released, the moment has also been used to launch a new slogan. The brand’s new signature in its promotional campaigns will be “Nothing Moves Us Like Citroën”. Or what is the same, «Nothing Moves Us Like Citroën».
Citroën’s new logo will debut on a concept car
Citroën has confirmed that this new logo and visual identity will be released in society through a new and important conceptual model. A concept car that will burst onto the scene this month of September. From mid-2023, the new corporate image will be progressively applied to all the models that make up the range.
