Citroën and Dongfeng, the brand under which the French company with the two chevrons sells its models in the Asian giant, are celebrating the new Chinese New Year which, this time, is marked by one of the fiercest felines, and the one that gives its name to a special edition of the flagship: the Citroën C5 X “Year of the Tiger”.
The new Citroën C5 X it has become the flagship of the French brand, both in Europe and in China. For this particular market, the French firm sells its products through the Dongfeng brand, and together with which they have decided to launch a limited edition of the sedan with hints of crossover to a thousand units in commemoration with the Chinese New Year.
The Citroën C5 X “Year of the Tiger” It is already on sale, although officially the Chinese New Year will be released on February 3, 2022, with one of the fiercest cats as the star, whose main qualities have been transferred to Citroën’s flagship. Compared with normal versions of the C5 X, this limited edition is presented with differentiating details Both inside and out. On the outside, it is offered in a palette of seven exterior paint colours, to choose from ‘Pearl White’, ‘Carbon Black’, ‘Greenish Gold’, ‘Space Silver’, ‘Sand Copper’, ‘Ash Blue’ and “Blue Night”.

Elegant colors that contrast with the red insert on the 19-inch diameter alloy wheels, forming a sportier image. In addition, on the rear pillar it has a special badge that represents the tiger’s head with red inserts and the name of the model, in Latin and Chinese characters. Inside, specific details are reflected in the gray leather upholstery with the headrests in red and with the same feline head embroidered in gold thread, also adding a touch screen in the 12-inch center console for the infotainment system.
These are the only details offered by this exclusive edition of 1,000 units for the Chinese who, since its market launch and in just three months, he has managed to conquer no less than 12,000 customers. In addition, the internal estimates of the brand indicate that, only during this month of January, nothing else 5,000 units will be added to the credit account of the model.
The Citroën C5 X “Year of the Tiger” will be offered with the only mechanical version available in the offer on the Asian market: the four-cylinder gasoline and 1.6 liters THP that yields a maximum power of 175 CV.
