A few days ago the new Chucky series, the “diabolical doll”, was released, in which the issue of inclusion has also been positioned, since one of its characters, as has been revealed, is non-binary.
Chucky is one of the most famous characters in the history of horror movies; debuted in 1988 with his first film and, since then, has become a media icon in this branch of the big screen.
Undoubtedly, we are talking about a movie that marked an entire generation, which saw one of its favorite characters in “the diabolical doll” making it a great commercial success.
Since its launch, the Chucky saga has left several titles on the screen, some more successful than others, but, in some way, it has remained current and, certainly, adapting to new trends.
This year, just a few days ago, a new series of said characters was released, which has the mission of reaching a new consumer niche and a new generation of horror film fans.
For this reason, this new installment of the saga is including topics that are currently trending, being, in this case, inclusion the one that is making the most impact among the global community.
This has not been missed by the creators of the series and, according to a clip from the series that is going viral, one of Chucky’s characters is “gender fluid.” In fact, it is Chucky’s son Glen, who is non-binary.

More and more we are seeing how the issue of inclusion is positioning itself in the different areas of the market: cinema, television, sports, and so on.
One of the most recent cases has to do with the last edition of the Olympic Games, where a truly historic event occurred, where a Canadian footballer became the first non-binary transgender person to hang an Olympic medal.
Moreover, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has been, so far, the most inclusive in history and it is expected that this trend will continue to grow as time passes and this issue becomes even more normalized.
Of course, it is one of those topics that, yes or yes, will cause controversy, taking into account that it is actually a marketing strategy to reach a certain niche of clients or consumers who have new habits and new ways of seeing life.
