Álex Palou is one of the eight drivers who will compete in the 60th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona with Chip Ganassi Racing, the team with which he won the IndyCar title in 2021. The Catalan driver will be at the controls of the Cadillac DPi-VR with number # 1 of the formation and will share efforts with Scott Dixon, Renger Van der Zande and Sébastien BourdaisThe latter two being the pilots in charge of competing full time with this prototype in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship throughout 2022. The driver line-up of the other DPi of the team also hides enormous talent.
The presence of Álex Palou, Scott Dixon and Marcus Ericsson in the Chip Ganassi Racing test that took place before Christmas already it presaged that the three riders of the structure in IndyCar were going to have a hole in the DPi of the formation in the queen appointment of the IMSA. Along with the Spanish will be Scott Dixon, six-time IndyCar champion and three of the Daytona 24 Hours. For its part, the track record of the two main drivers of this Cadillac # 1 speaks for itself, since Renger Van der Zande was IMSA champion in 2016 and has won Daytona twice, while Sébastien Buemi has conquered the Champ Car four times, in addition to the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2014.

In Cadillac # 2, a high-level quarters meet. Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn and Kevin Magnussen to join forces with Marcus Ericsson at Daytona with the clear objective of achieving victory in the 60th edition of the event. Ultimately, Bamber and Lynn have a long and successful track record in endurance and Magnussen is part of Peugeot’s project in the WEC LMH category. Despite competing for five seasons in Formula 1, Swede Marcus Ericsson has a more discreet track record and career, with a couple of IndyCar victories added in 2021 and no endurance experience.
