Premium car sales in China for 2030
Audi estimates that Premium car sales in China will reach 4.5 million units annually by 2030. Taking into account that throughout the turbulent year 2020 this figure was 3.1 million, it is a significant increase. The trend will be clearly upward for years to come. In addition, and in parallel, the Ingolstadt manufacturer points out that the share of electric cars over this total will go from the current 10% to 40% at the end of the decade in the best of cases.

FAW and the Volkswagen Group have a joint venture whose headquarters are located in Changchun. A company that has been in charge of manufacturing Audi brand models for more than 30 years. From the hand of FAW, Audi will expand its range of locally produced vehicles to 12 models by the end of this year 2021.
SAIC is Audi’s second Chinese partner. It is one of the most important Chinese car manufacturers and also maintains a very close collaboration with the Volkswagen Group. The first products of the collaboration with this second partner will be launched in 2022 and will also be marketed through the dealer network established by FAW-Volkswagen Audi.

And as such, Audi is focusing on the specific needs of customers in the world’s largest automotive market and actively driving innovation.
To date, Audi’s sales in China have surpassed the 7 million vehicle barrier. Throughout the year 2020 Audi car registrations in the Asian country totaled 727,358 units. And so far in 2021, during the first semester, 418,749 units have been accumulated.
