A drawing contest that wants to make the little ones and little ones aware of the importance of taking advantage of food and avoiding wasting it, encouraging them to unleash their imagination to put a face on the superhero or superheroine who fights against food waste.
A contest promoted by AECOC, the Association of Manufacturers and Distributors, within its usual campaign Food has no waste, in which boys and girls between 5 and 10 years old can participate creating an original and creative drawing of their superhero or superheroine , and giving it a name, in order to qualify for a prize of a laptop for the winner and a Tablet for the second classified. This jury will be in charge of making the preselection of four finalist drawings and the winners will be decided on September 29 during the celebration of the IX AECOC Meeting Point against Food Waste.
Contestants may send their drawings, with the help of their parents or legal guardians, until Sunday, September 5, through the platform that has been specially enabled for this contest. The contest looks for the most creative, original and fun drawings. The creations must be unpublished, that is, they must not have been published in any medium or medium, nor copied, nor can they represent or refer to any commercial brand.
Since 2012, AECOC has coordinated the initiative Food has no waste, which currently brings together nearly seven hundred manufacturing and distribution companies to avoid the generation of food waste in the sector. In fact, the companies that are part of this project have managed to reduce the food waste generated by their activity, going from 1.78% to 0.80% of the total commercialized from the beginning of the project until now.
In addition, the Meeting Point against Food Waste is held every year to share good practices and actions promoted by companies to avoid food waste. The meeting will be held on September 29, coinciding with the International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste, at the Eduardo Úrculo Cultural Center in Madrid. This year’s edition will feature the presence of a series of companies that will present their successful strategies to prevent food loss.
