The purchase of ActivisionBlizzard by microsoft He left us with a lot of doubts about the future of his franchises, especially on consoles outside of Xbox. Although it is easy to assume that in the future all the IPs of this company will remain in Xbox, phil spencer stated that some of them will continue to be released for PlayStation.
According to the report of Bloomberg, microsoft will continue to support other systems, even if the content eventually becomes exclusive to Xbox.
“Microsoft will continue to make some Activision games for PlayStation consoles, but will also keep some Xbox-exclusive content.”
Spencer, CEO from MicrosoftGaming, He also talked about the plans that the company has regarding future games of Activision on other platforms:
“Activision Blizzard’s incredible franchises will also accelerate our plans for Cloud Gaming, allowing more people in more places around the world to participate in the Xbox community using phones, laptops and other devices. Activision Blizzard games are enjoyed on a wide variety of platforms and we will continue to support those communities in the future.”
Since these statements focus more on mobile devices, it is clear that spencer not only talking about PlayStation. It seems that Xbox will continue to support existing releases, but the same could not be said for future games of Activision Blizzard.
Publisher’s note: I think so, eventually Activision Blizzard IPs will end up being exclusive to Xbox consoles which is obviously a huge blow to Sony and PlayStation. We will have to get used to the fact that Call of Duty, Crash, Spyro and more will only be playable on Xbox soon.
