Was Captain America responsible for Thanos’ snap?
According to the filmmaker, much of what happened during Avengers: Infinity War could have been avoided if Steve Rogers had chosen not defend Vision in favor of millions of people. Numerically, the director, who tells her theory with her humor, is not without reason. However, in that decision, she puts Captain America’s sense of ethics and morality on the table again.
This was what Nia DaCosta said, during an interview in reverse: “One thing I like to say a little offhand about Captain America is that (Thanos’s) snap is his fault.. She was trying to do the best she could, trying to do the right thing. There’s a world where he’s a villain because, at the end of the day, he should have sacrificed Vision. He chose the life of a robot, albeit a conscious one, over literally the entire universe. There’s kind of an anti-hero to that if you want to look at it through that lens.”
