Activision has just confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, showing the game’s logo in a very dramatic way, as it has revealed the art of Modern Warfare II through a huge announcement of more than 25 thousand square meters in size, which is supposedly visible from space, while also confirming the game’s official release date.
As Activision has announced, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II release date is October 28, 2022. On that day, Call of Duty fans will be able to return to a new adventure around the world with the return of Task Force 141, a group made up of characters familiar to those who played the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare or the original trilogy of Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2007-2011).
Activision has confirmed the members of Task Force 141 who will appear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II when it launches this October 28. The Operators will be led by Captain John Price, who will be joined by Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and newly arrived Colonel Alejandro Vargas, a member of the Mexican Special Forces.
These characters will play key roles in the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIand it’s likely they’ll be playable in multiplayer as well, though that hasn’t been confirmed at the time of this writing.
With this revelation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIit seems that the leaks were correct in stating that Activision is going to focus on revealing the Modern Warfare II campaign first, and that more information about multiplayer and other game modes will be available later this summer.
Activision hasn’t revealed exactly when Modern Warfare II’s big campaign reveal will take place, but some leakers have said early June.
