At the moment not much is known about the narrative or playable proposal of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor apart from the fact that it will take place five years after the events of the previous game, with a more mature Cal Kestis aware of the responsibility of being one of the last Jedi in the universe. This coming of age is a very interesting aspect of the character, says actor Cameron Monaghan, as it leads to very interesting questions “about Cal and the universe” from Star Wars usually.
“He is someone who lived through a genocide, a purge of people of his kind, and has been living in hiding for most of his life,” the actor said in an interview with ComingSoon. “For me, a survivor is someone who is able to persist in the face of extraordinary adversity, and I think that’s what our story is about. We see Cal challenged in a way we’ve never seen him before, and takes him through moments that are more difficult than anything his character has ever faced. Without giving anything away, I think it leads to some very interesting questions for Cal, as well as for this universe in general.”
“It’s exciting to see how this character will change over time,” said the actor. “Seeing how this character develops is really interesting. This game takes place about five years after the first. Furthermore, in the course of this story, we see that Cal really does change in a lot of very interesting ways.. It was a pleasure to be able to explore with this character. He’s a really unique person in this world, and I think that’s something that is communicated in the story in a way that I think is going to be very interesting and morally complex too”.
