Burger King’s campaign in Seville, Spain, is unleashing all kinds of comments on social networks. “They make fun of everything!” some say. Others assure that it is creative and that it links the two concepts in an excellent way.
But let’s see, what is the Burger King advertising that everyone talks about in Spain?
The hamburger brand has become a trend due to the controversial advertising posters placed in Seville on the occasion of Holy Week.
Indeed, Burger King is promoting their new vegetarian products with phrases that have provoked many, especially the most religious.
Using Holy Week as a concept, the company’s advertising agency used phrases from some of the Bible passages and adapted them into the posters.
“Take all of you and eat of it. That he does not carry meat ”, says one of the texts.
The other copy says: “Meat of my meat”, but the word “meat” is crossed out and replaced by the word “vegetable”.
In social networks, especially on Twitter, there are many questions. Some speak of disrespect for commercial purposes.

“Do they have to make fun of everything? Anything goes as long as you sell?” says a user on Twitter.
“Burger King shouldn’t advertise these things. Lack of respect for the faith and on top of that they want to sell us a plastic hamburger”, points out another.
Far-right Spanish politicians, such as Santiago Abascal and Jorge Buxadé, of the VOX party, said they do not want to see “multinational logos frivolously disparaging the faith and Catholic tradition of the Spanish people.”
Other users of social networks, on the contrary, made positive comments. “Burger King knows what to do to have a free advertising campaign. Let the ‘offended’ do it for you”, wrote a user this Saturday, March 16.
“It’s an incredible ad, it literally tells you that if you’re religious and not a vegetarian/vegan you can still eat at Burger King and adds a bit of humor by the way,” says another.
Another writes: “Can you imagine @burgerking_es saying that when a Muslim man dies, 72 hamburgers await him to eat together with Allah? Right not? Do you know why? Because insulting Christians is free.”

Today, in the middle of Glory Saturday, Christ wants to forgive the ridicule, the spitting, the hurtful words of all of us who take him to the cross… and also the “creative” marketing director of this hamburger restaurant. What yes, is that I will never set foot in Burger King again. pic.twitter.com/zTfMHDuJ9A
