The artist appeared to dramatically burst out of a box as he took the stage in Chicago’s Grant Park and was greeted by screams from a sea of fans.
The crowd rapped and sang songs from J-Hope’s new solo albumas well as classics of the boy band BTS.
J-Hope also sent a special message to the South Korean public, and was joined by singer Becky G to perform their collaboration. Chicken Noodle Soup.
This edition of Lollapalooza, broadcast live on the Hulu platform, also saw the debut of Tomorrow X Together, another South Korean boy band that is under the same label as BTS.
“These artists have received great communication skills. Their global audience speaks different languages but has an intense passion for their music,” Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said in June.
The J-Hope’s performance on the main stage It comes after more than a month after the seven members of BTS – one of the most popular groups in the world – announced that they would take a break from the group to focus on their solo activities.
