Blizzard Entertainment will transfer all money and loot boxes to your Overwatch 2 account

Great news for the entire Overwatch gaming community is that the developer company is fine-tuning things for the long-awaited sequel to the video game. It was recently announced that Overwatch 2 will finally be free to play and, therefore, leaves loot boxes behind to propose a more current and less speculative progression such as Battle Passes.

Something that seems quite striking to us is that Blizzard has recently clarified what will happen to those users who have accumulated money and loot boxes in their account after the arrival of OverWatch 2 and its change in strategy. First, all Overwatch assets will automatically transfer to Overwatch 2.

“All of those existing currencies (credits, OWL tokens, and competitive points) will come with you in Overwatch 2,” confirms Blizzard business lead Jon Spector via an AMA on Reddit. As for the loot boxes, since they won’t exist in the sequel, they will all open automatically before moving on to Overwatch 2.

“We will not transfer loot boxes to Overwatch 2, and prior to launch, any unopened loot boxes will automatically open and your account will receive all content directly,” confirms Spector in the absence of revealing more details about this change in the progression system. ahead of the release of Overwatch 2.

Everything seems to indicate that the title will knock on its doors on October 4 on Xbox, Playstation, PC and Nintendo Switch consoles. The Xbox and Bethesda event also witnessed numerous news about Diablo IV, another of Blizzard’s long-awaited releases.

We will have to wait until 2023, but he confirmed the Necromancer as the fifth and last playable class, and advanced some of the most interesting changes in this installment compared to previous games in the series. For example, the new levels of Paragon in the style of Path of Exile or that the game will have crossplay between all platforms.
