The BBVA Mexico bank awarded a loan of 60 million dollars linked to projects of sustainability to the industrial development division to the Mexican company Stivawith the aim of reducing the energy intensity of non-renewable sources.
The loan to the real estate development corporation will be for five years and with it it seeks to reduce its impact on the environment, the bank said Thursday in a statement.
The indicator of this financing directly impacts the reduction of energy intensity from non-renewable sources per square foot operated to exercise its compliance during the life of the credit”,
stated the company in the document.
Stiva promised to generate clean energy and reduce electricity consumption from non-renewable sources “in common areas and wastewater treatment plants by up to 50% over a period of five years.”
The CEO of Business Banking and Government of BBVA MexicoAlejandro Cárdenas, stressed that from 2021 until the end of this year they granted more than 68,000 million Mexican pesos (almost 3,475 million dollars) in loans to companies from various sectors.

For his part, the corporate vice president of Stiva Group, Juan Guasco, stressed that the improvement of the infrastructure of its industrial parks is in line with the United Nations Environment Program.
