Bayonetta 3 it was one of the most pleasant surprises that the Nintendo Direct let us see held by the company on September 23/24. During the broadcast, Nintendo released a new trailer for the highly anticipated Bayonetta 3, and we found it spectacular. Now, as part of the trailer launch celebration, its director tells us a little more about the development of the title from Platinum Games. More information below.
The director of Bayonetta 3, Yusuke miyata, recently published in the Platinum Games official blog a new message for the fans of the saga. In this message, Miyata says that, although it is his first time working on a Bayonetta title, has been a huge fan of their games from the start. Also ensure have read all the books related to Bayonetta, in addition to constantly debate with Hideki Kamiya on every aspect of the title before starting work.
Miyata also tells that the character of Bayonetta itself is one of the great attractions of the franchise. The director is using all the knowledge gathered through his years of developing various video game characters to bring Bayonetta to life, as well as all the charm that surrounds the charismatic witch. Here we leave you the Yusuke Miyata’s statements on the Platinum Games blog -translation of Nintenderos-.
Hi everyone! I am Yusuke Miyata, the director of Bayonetta 3. We have kept you waiting for a long time, but I am very happy that we have finally been able to bring you a new trailer.
This is my first time working on the Bayonetta series, but like all of you, I am a huge fan and have played the previous games non-stop. After being asked to direct the game, I not only replayed the previous games, but also read all the Bayonetta-related books cover to cover before getting into deep discussions with Kamiya about all aspects of the game, from the systems to the stage, before I get to work.
One of the biggest draws to the Bayonetta games is the mysterious and alluring character of Bayonetta herself, as well as the cast of unique characters that surround her. I have worked on the development of several games, and I have made the most of that experience to highlight the charms of Bayonetta and her gang.
I’m also being very picky about the action, which is essential in the Bayonetta series. Kamiya has spoken to me almost literally of “action connected directly to the brain.” Basically, that’s the kind of satisfying action game that comes from being able to control the character exactly how you want, and the genes for that action have been properly passed on to this game as well. Both as a developer and as a fan, I’m working on Bayonetta 3 with these two fascinating aspects of the series in mind, aiming to exceed all expectations.
What do you think of the new trailer? We’ve introduced a ton of new elements throughout the frenetic pace. I’d like to talk a bit about one of them, a new standout mechanic that lets you control hellish demons, called “Demon Slave.” Unlike previous games, in which we automatically defeated enemies and returned to Inferno, this mechanic allows players to control demons during the game and trigger a series of intuitive actions. Each demon’s abilities vary, and the types of abilities that are advantageous in a given situation can change at any time. How many there are? What else can you do? Well, there is much more I would like to tell you about, but I have to stop here for now. However, there is a lot of information hidden in the trailer that I have not shared here, so please consider watching it again until the next announcement.
Right now we are in the final stretch of development, working to make the core of the game even more fun and trying things nonstop. As the culmination of this series loved by all of you, we are giving everything to make it a masterpiece worthy of the Bayonetta name, so wait just a little bit longer!
