A behind-the-scenes look at Batwoman’s Joker reveals the closest version of the character to the comics yet, with green hair and a purple suit.
In its third season, Batwoman deals with the problems caused by the large number of variants of Batman villains that have emerged as a result of the theft of the objects of power of these villains that the Batcave protected. Thus, we have been able to see, for example, two Poison Ivy interacting, the original Poison Ivy of Pamela Isley (Bridget Regan) as well as the one known as “Poison Mary” resulting from the exposure of Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) to the powers of Ivy.
One of these new villains is the Joker version of Ryan Wilder’s (Javicia Leslie) half-brother, Marquis Jet (Nick Creegan), who in his childhood was targeted by the original Joker. In 2003, when Marquis was a child, the school bus he was riding in was hijacked by Joker. The villain placed his electric joy buzzer on Marquis’s head, and the electrical charge he released through his brain caused the part of his brain that controls empathy to go numb. The result was a psychopath who twistedly identifies with Joker and battles Batwoman.
Batwoman’s Joker is closer to the comics
Possibly due to Warner’s policy of saving their older characters for big-budget productions, it’s hard to see Batman or Joker on TV series. However, in the episode “We’re All Mad Here” we get a glimpse of the Clown Prince of Crime from behind in a flashback.
However, the young actor who plays Marquis as a child, Kendrick Jackson, shared on his Instagram account a series of behind-the-scenes photos of Batwoman, and in one of these we see him standing next to the unknown actor who played Joker in the chapter. And we found the one that so far is the closest Joker to the comics of all the live-action versions that we know of.
