A new social network is about to be born: its name is artifact and is nicknamed “text TikTok”. Its creators are Kevin Systrom Y Mike Krieger, creators of Instagram, who sold the app to Facebook in 2012 and left the company in 2018, due to differences with Mark Zuckerberg.
But, how does Artifact work? What are the differences with other social networks? Is it active already?
Let’s start with the latter. Artifact is not live yet, as it is in a private beta phase. However, you can access through the project portal, join the waiting list and receive the invitation when it is ready.
Users of Android and iOS they will be able to have it.
Let’s go with the most important: What is Artifact?
This is how Artifact, the “text TikTok”, and its differences with Twitter will work
Its creators define it as “a personalized news service powered by Artificial Intelligence”. From there to being nicknamed “TikTok text”.
The informations will arrive instantly, directly to the smartphone, so that the user is the first to know.
In this looks a lot like twitter but try to differentiate yourself in approach, working directly with news, with information.
Apparently, the interest is in capturing Twitter users who have been disappointed with the arrival of Elon Musk, with a source of seriousness and rigor.
“The collapse of Twitter under Elon Musk has created an opportunity for a team with genuine experience in this space to retest text-based social media,” he notes. Casey Newton for Platformer.
The value of Artificial Intelligence
From TikTok they take algorithmic predictions based on Artificial Intelligence.
I saw that change and thought ‘Oh, that’s the future of social media’ Kevin Systrom told Platformer.
“What was funny to me is, as I looked around, I wondered ‘Why doesn’t this happen everywhere on social media? Why is Twitter still mostly about following? And Facebook?”.
Although they have not specified when the launch of Artifact will occur, it is expected that it will be in the course of 2023 or by 2024 directly.
