AppleMusic has surpassed the milestone of 100 million songs available in its catalog. To compare, Spotify currently has about 80 million topics. Released on June 30, 2015, and initially available in 100 countries, it had some 30 million songs available. In November 2019 they announced the increase to 60 million and in December 2021 up to 90 million.
Seven years later, the catalog has more than tripled, reaching 100 million songs. Also, most of them available in lossless audio and others in spatial audio (Dolby Atmos).
According to the company, 20,000 artists each day publish songs to the platform’s catalog. “100 Million Songs is evidence of how Apple Music has become a more democratic space, where anyone, even a new musician working from their bedroom, is capable of having the next big thing,” said Rachel Newman, Editorial Director. from service.

Apple launches Apple Music Today
Along with the announcement of the 100 million songs in the Apple Music catalog, the company launches a new program called Apple Music Today. The audio series will highlight a new song every day, seven days a week. It will start with the story of Nothing Compares 2 U. Originally written by Prince in 1985 for his project familybecame very popular with the version of Sinead O’Connor published in 1990.
Apple Music Today aims to show the story behind many of the songs that have been deep in popular culture, in pills of about five minutes a day.
