We have been telling you for a long time about that supposed car that Apple would be working on. For sure, we only know that this project is called Titan internally and that most of Apple’s effort has been invested in the autonomous driving system, something that is relatively easy to achieve at a basic level, but which is extremely difficult. to get to the level that is needed: Perfect and infallible.
Now a new rumor, this time originating in the Reuters news agency, tells us that Apple could be preparing to start manufacturing that car much sooner than many of us imagined; In the year 2024.
Not only that, but the car would use a new battery technology that, they say, is totally new and would represent a technological change in the caliber of the iPhone launch in 2007. This new battery would have two important technological advances over the current ones; The first is that it would use a lithium-ion phosphate that, in theory, would make them safer than current lithium-ion batteries. In addition, the batteries would be integrated into a single pack without separating materials between them, allowing to achieve a battery with an energy density much higher than current batteries, which are actually large battery packs, thousands of them, in each vehicle.
These advances would give the Apple Car more autonomy than other electric vehicles and also more safety in the event of an accident, or in the event of any other type of battery problem.
This is all very well, but it is advisable to take all this with a lot of skepticism. In general, any rumor that has something to do with the Titan project or Apple’s supposed electric car, it is better not to believe too much… until Apple presents it if they do one day.
