Another Xbox franchise could get a remaster like the Master Chief Collection

Since the last generation of consoles, the gaming industry has seen a series of remakes, remasters, and collections to satisfy the nostalgia of many gamers. Among the most popular collections is Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is still an active title on the platforms. Xbox thanks to the set of campaigns and multiplayer options available to players. However, if a new insider report turns out to be true, another Xbox franchise is getting a similar remaster in the near future.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was originally released in November 2014 for Xbox One, preparing for the release of Halo 5: Guardians a year later. The collection originally included the complete campaigns for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4, along with an extensive multiplayer pack featuring several original and remastered maps and modes. Other games like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach would be added in later updates to round out the collection to include nearly every Halo FPS title.

No other exclusive series of Xbox has gotten this treatment so far, but XboxEra podcast host Nick Shepshal says that will change in 2022. Nick said in the last episode that he had spoken to someone from Xbox who confirmed that another collection is on the way and would be out. sometime in 2022 or 2023. However, they didn’t tell him which Xbox series it would be.

The first thing that many players have thought of is the Gears of War franchise, which would not be the first time that a collection of this series has been rumored. The series can be argued to be Xbox’s second or third most recognized, depending on how some view Forza, and has a game released on each console. Xbox since the first game on Xbox 360. It also makes sense if Xbox is working on Gears 6 and looking for something to calm players down until its release.

Another option is the Fable series, which hasn’t seen a main entry released since 2010’s Fable 3 in Xbox 360. A new Fable game was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase in July 2020, though little has been said about the game since then. Players can argue that a series collection would be a smart way to prepare for the new game’s release, familiarizing players with the series.
