The Premier League saw a star arrive at the beginning of the season in Manchester City and he has responded with goals, good performances and enviable potential: we are talking about Erling Haaland. The Norwegian arrived and has already played 47 games with the ‘citizen’ team and has a ‘stratospheric’ sum of 51 goals. However, before his career took off, he was able to reach England, precisely at Manchester Utd.
Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, is one of the happiest with the arrival of Haaland from Borussia Dortmund and his potential has been more than demonstrated throughout the season. But this whole panorama could have changed if the ‘red devils’ accepted an offer several years before who could be the ‘savior’ of the club.
The fact is, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals, the Norwegian was able to arrive in the English city several years earlier. The one who was a United player and coach, was Haaland’s coach during his time at Molde, warned of the jewel he had in his hands: “He had this talented striker that we (referring to his former team) should have had.”.
According to a publication by The Sun, the story details that all this communication arose before his arrival at Manchester United’s technical command, where he became the main DT: “I called United about six months before I took office, but they didn’t listen to me”.
It is true that the numbers of the Norwegian forward in Molde were not at the level of those of the rest of his career, but the figure at which the transfer was valued was ridiculous considering the level that the 9 of City has reached. “I asked for 4.5 million euros for Haaland, but they didn’t sign it”Solskjaer said.

Haaland’s career
Erling Haaland left Molde and left for Austria to play for RB Salzburg. The figures achieved in the rojiblanco team began to amaze the ‘Old Continent’ and months later he landed at Borussia Dortmund to start breaking some records.
By then, when the Norwegian began his adventure in the Bundesliga, Solskjaer was already United’s first coach and he tried the transfer again, although there was no luck. Haaland had a roadmap marked out that he has been fulfilling step by step until he became the best striker in the world and smashed all the Premier’s records. While in one part of Manchester they enjoy the Norwegian’s goals, in the other they continue to lament.
