Battlefield 2042 could not miss today’s EA Play Live and the DICE game has been what more fans around the world have been waiting for from a saga as mythical as Battlefield. The return to a modern setting, although not futuristic, was a first step to continue the path marked out with Battlefield 3 and 4, but DICE did not want to forget about the classic titles of the franchise, that’s where the new game mode comes from, Battlefield Portal.
If you wonder what Battlefield Portal is, we are going to tell you in a very simple way, this new game mode is the rumored content that DICE LA, now called Ripple Effect Studios, have been working on. This game mode will allow us to enjoy maps from previous Battlefield installments: Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3.
So far, what has been confirmed is that we will have 2 maps available from each game, a total of 6, which will be added to the 7 of Battlefield 2042, making there 13 exit maps in the game.
The maps that we will have available in Battlefield Portal will be Battle of the Bulge and El Alamein from Battlefield 1942; Arica Harbor and Valparaiso from Battlefield: Bad Company 2; and Caspian Border and Noshahr Canals from Battlefield 3.

As we have seen in the trailer, the maps will not be mere additions or remasters, but rather have been built from the ground upFor something, their development has been entrusted to Ripple Effect Studios, so that they can be enjoyed at 4K resolution, improvements in elements of destruction and most importantly, support up to 128 players.
Accompanying the maps, Battlefield Portal will also allow players to create experiences, modifying parameters and aspects of the maps, in order to create a personalized experience that we can share for other players to live.
In addition to these maps, DICE has also confirmed that more will be arriving in the future, thus expanding the Battlefield 2042 experience, which will be released on October 22 of this year.
