After a few months in beta, the OnePlus 6 and 6T have Android 11, the latest stable version of Google’s operating system. Both devices were launched on the market in 2018, hand in hand with Android 8.1 Oreo, which is why we are talking about four major operating system updates on their backs.
With Android 11 comes OxygenOS 11, the same version that we find in mobile phones as current as the OnePlus Nord 2 or the OnePlus 9. Let’s tell you all the news in this update, as it comes with great changes and improvements for these devices that still have life ahead.
Android 11 comes to the OnePlus 6 and 6T
The OnePlus 6 and 6T are already three years old, although they came on the market with a version behind the expected for 2018, Android 8.1. Despite this, OnePlus was updating itself in updates until it reached the latest version: Android 11 based on OxygenOS 11.
Android 11 comes with great changes at the visual level, now it is less stock and “more One UI”, but it maintains fluidity and customization
This is a major update that not only improves performance and energy efficiency, but it comes with quite a few new features at the visual and functional level. These are some of the most outstanding:
- New interface
- Improvements in Fnatic mode (game mode)
- Camera interface improvements
- Always On Display enhancements
- More customizable night mode
- New widgets
- Improved notifications
As usual, the update starts rolling out little by little via OTA, so there is no more to wait for it to end up reaching the device. From the settings, in the updates section, we can check if the update has reached us.
