It is well known that the PlayStation 4 is the best-selling console of the last generation and the PS5 is not doing badly, despite the shortage of consoles. However, there are people who believe that Sony is doing poorly and that it cannot compete with Xbox, or at least that is what the analyst says. Michael Patcher.
on podcast RDX this week had a special guest with the analyst Michael Patcherwho shared his opinion on issues related to video games and made the prediction that PlayStation would disappear within the next 10 years and Xbox Game Pass would be partly to blame.

“I think the PlayStation is finished and I think they will cease to exist as we know them in about 10 years…they cannot compete”, was what Michael Pachter said. Although PlayStation consoles are currently selling very well and Pachter acknowledges this, he believes that the Xbox Game Pass subscription model has the potential to kill PlayStation.
“They have no chance to compete. They go a couple of years ago, it is an insurmountable advantage”, says Pachter referring to the Xbox Game Pass subscription system, which has been a success for Microsoft. According to Patchter, if Microsoft continues to sell Xbox Game Pass subscriptions cheaply, it will eventually have so many gamers in its PC/Xbox ecosystem that Sony won’t be able to compete.

A rumor has been circulating for a few months that Sony is working on its own subscription service to compete with Xbox Game Pass, which would be codenamed Project Spartacus. Michael Pachter isn’t the only one who thinks Xbox has an edge over PlayStation in this regard, as Phil Spencer thinks they’ve done such a good job with Xbox Game Pass that Sony is going to have to follow suit.
