Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s biggest game to date. It combines a huge open world with traditional Dark Souls-style dungeons, and encourages exploration by hiding valuable items and weapons throughout the map.
Elden Ring It comes packed with content, but most of it is optional, so players will often find themselves with new areas long after the main story is over.
The players of Elden Ring have come up with different speed-running strategies to quickly finish the game despite its enormous length. One user finished Elden Ring in less than 25 minutes, however, it seems users are setting a new record sooner rather than later, as one Elden Ring player has finished the game in an incredibly short amount of time.
A streamer named Distortion2 finished Elden Ring in less than 9 minutes, 8:56 to be exact, and states that it is the first race under 9 minutes. Distortion2 used a cheat to finish Elden Ring this way, but these types of tactics are commonly used in speedrunning games.
Early on, Distortion2 uses a trick to land on Stormveil’s castle, avoiding the Godrick boss fight. He uses similar techniques to seemingly teleport across great distances and beats the game without properly fighting any of the bosses. Some users may be confused by the images, but a helpful comment aims to explain the method used in the video.
According to this user, the video shows an unrestricted speedrun, which means the player can finish Elden Ring either way as long as it gets to the end. Distortion2 uses a technique to traverse the world, which can be performed by holding the guard button while walking for a set duration.
He then uses the same method to kill the bosses, including the final Elden Ring boss, and the prompt to play again shortly after doing so. This method sounds easy to do, but it will probably take hours of practice to get the proper timing for these zips.
